Being, acknowledging and enjoying the now…has changed my whole perception on life during my hectic days. I can’t explain in an eloquent way…I am enjoying every minute of my doing and being. Thank you Amy and Debs…mummy mojo!!! Xx

If motherhood has stolen your mojo, don’t despair! The good news is that it is not gone for ever. You just need to know where to look for it and how to hang on to it once you find it – and that is where we come in!

Did it get lost in the pursuit of career, having kids, coping with responsibilities? You’re not alone. It seems every mum you speak to these days is suffering from a lack of energy, a loss of self-confidence, low self-esteem,  poor health, tiredness and stress.

If this sounds like you, we can totally sympathise. It’s not surprising when you think about the never-ending list of things to do and worry about, the chronic lack of self care, the self-sacrifices you have made, and the constant self-criticism you subject yourself to as a mum – that nothing you do is ever good enough. You feel overwhelmed, out of balance and unfulfilled.

You don’t have to continue to feel this way. And you don’t have to choose between being a good mum, and having a mojo-filled life. You most definitely can have both! It’s time to stop putting your own needs last and join our tribe of mums who want to feel happy, healthy and fulfilled.

Amy Down - Nutrition, Health and Life Coach

For as long as I can remember I have been interested in natural health and in following a spiritual path.

My parents had a lot to do with this passion; growing up my dad followed a daily meditation practice, and my mum tried each and every natural health fad.

Also high up on my passion list was socialising with my friends. Unfortunately with this came drinking, which turned into “binge drinking’, and my 20’s were spent partying the nights away in London, UK. During this time, despite my obvious vices, I was still exploring health and spirituality. I was vegetarian, I took vitamins, and after meeting the Dalai Lama at 25 I studied and practiced yoga.

During this time I worked in communications for a number of fast-paced companies before deciding to turn my lifelong passion for health into a career. I spent 11 years working for Australia’s leading natural healthcare company, and finally I was living and breathing my passion. I really should have been at my healthiest.

Yet what I found was that I was great at giving health advice to others, just not at nurturing myself!

I worked hard, I played hard, I ran around a million miles an hour. I was highly stressed and fatigued – my body was screaming at me to STOP!

With two children under five, I was working full-time, managing the house hold, studying, involved in community groups, and socialising way too much.

As far as over-committing myself goes, I was having my cake, eating it, and then baking another and eating that one too!

Can we really have it all? I honestly thought I was Superwoman and that my body was that too.

But I was wrong… It was only a matter of time before my exhausted adrenals packed up, my stomach went haywire, and my poor busted immune system shut down.

From then on my life was filled with endless days of fatigue and pain. I tried everything. I gave up gluten and sugar. I explored countless healing therapies. I took treatments for my adrenals, thyroid, to detox metals and mould, you name it, I did it!

I didn’t get much better. I saw doctor, after doctor, after doctor. Having tests, after tests, after tests. After four years of searching, I was finally diagnosed with a tick borne illness.

I was exhausted and frustrated with the whole experience! My intuition that it was Lyme's Disease (despite the doctors saying it didn’t exist in Australia!) had been right all along.

I decided to take things into my own hands. To use my knowledge and experience to help myself heal.

Along this journey of growth, healing, and discovery, I got deeply in touch with my soul.

I applied daily self-care and self-love. I learned to live ‘deep’, not ‘fast’. I listened to my inner voice. Truly listened. I learned that positive health starts from within.

I "finally” saw the light. Every ‘body’ has the chance to heal, you just need to believe you can, and then provide it with a nourishing, healthy environment.

My passion for helping myself became a deep passion for helping other women.

These days, I carefully weave my family life, friendships, and personal aspirations into a career that I adore: helping others to make a similar transformation in their lives.

I am a holistic health & lifestyle coach, EFT Practitioner, wellness blogger, and a lifelong student (mindfulness, nutrition, meditation, gut health, etc).

I am now living a life of health, purpose, and meaning, and I’ve never been happier.

By sharing my experiences around the holistic approach I have taken in my path to wellness, I hope to educate, inspire and motivate you to better health.

I will help you develop an individual plan and set of goals that can enhance any or all areas of your life; nutrition, exercise, relationships, career, mindfulness and spirituality. The focus is not solely on diet and exercise; it is about helping you achieve balance in your life and guiding you to a higher place of happiness and wellness.

When I made the decision to give up my career in PR to be a stay-at-home mum to my baby boy, and then three years later to twin boys, I threw everything into being the best mum I could be. I am lucky and privileged to have been able to do so, and wouldn’t change it for anything.

But for a time, being a stay-at-home mum swallowed me up. The confident, outgoing, fun-loving, cheesy dancing, gin drinking PR girl I once was had gone, and in her place was a tired, stressed, overwhelmed, overweight housewife.

Having three small boys and living on the other side of the world to my family meant I had no support network. I was severely sleep deprived and I barely had the energy to get through the day. I also didn’t realise how much of an impact giving up work would have on me, and I soon realised I needed another purpose beyond that of motherhood.

I started the process of getting my mojo back by practising self care. I took steps to get better sleep. I started taking better care of my health, and gave up some of my unhealthy habits. I also worked hard to get some time back for myself, so that I could start doing things again that gave me joy.

Two things that had the biggest impact on my life were the discovery of minimalism and mindfulness. I now strive to live minimally and mindfully every day.

The final piece of the puzzle was co-founding Mummy Mojo with Amy, an outlet to provide a sense of purpose and for fulfilling our passion to help other mums get their mojo back after having kids.

I joined this program because I felt that I had a weak immune system that made me get sick often and also had issues with reflux, indigestion and bloating. Two weeks into the program I started to feel that my immune system was stronger and I was not suffering from reflux, indigestion and bloating. I was surprised with the amount of energy I had and was generally feeling happier and not fatigued like I would normally feel while walking my dog after work. I was exercising more regularly and with Amy’s constant support I was able to make changes in my life that improved my health. I am so relieved that I no longer suffer from reflux and indigestion as this was a big worry for me. Thanks so much Amy for all your support and information provided. I highly recommend this program to anyone that is looking to improve their health and lifestyle :)
